Death Valley National Park - April 2-4, 2010
Artist's Palette
At the beginning of the wildflower bloom this spring, Death Valley was full of surprises and unexpected discoveries. Snow-capped peaks framed a valley full of color - in the rocks, in the flowers and in the valley floor. The national park is vast - the largest park in the system. Furnace Creek Inn is well situated with a spectacular view from the outdoor patio. Scotty's Castle at the north end of the park is reminiscent of Hearst Castle but on a smaller scale. The visit was well worth the 500+ mile drive to get there!
